Woohoo!

Current: 11.6 and a half.
To go: 6 and a half.
Week's target: 5

Well! It certainly has been an interesting few days. I was mortified the day after my last post as I had crept up to 8 and a half pounds - however I believe this to have been due to a large carb meal. However the next day I was down to 6 and three quarters - strange! Could it be water retention? Hmmm.

Anyway, I experienced my first weekend not really being in control of what I was eating - a weekend at the in-laws. Now, considering I managed to keep the weight off as well as feel good this means I have come up with a few tips for anyone who may dread a weekend away. Firstly, theres no need to worry - just make the right choices. I was adamant that I would not use the words 'diet' or 'losing weight' and so I gladly helped myself to what was on offer and enjoyed it - I just didn't have large portions or have seconds. Yes I had a reduced fat chocolate chunk muffin from nero, yes I had a smartie cookie for lunch, yes I had multiple vodkas at the wedding and yes...I even had sticky toffee pudding with my sunday dinner. How I've managed to STILL lose weight - I have NO IDEA!!! Actually yes I have - I was just conscious of portions, conscious of stopping when I was full and was determined to get back on the Zumba this afternoon! Will it come back to bite me tomorrow? Who knows! But for now - I think I have got away with it!

So, today has been a good day - I even had bread, albeit small slices but it kept me full until dinner. I only snacked on melon - of which I have stocked up on, I'm attempting to drink gallons of water which is doing wonders and I'm even stocking back up on herbal tea which also is super. I did a 45 minute session of Zumba and so in conclusion, a successful weekend, a successful day and I hope it shows on the scales tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed! Ax

Unknown!

Well, due to a very late get up and having to rush out the door there was no weigh in this morning, however I felt very healthy and not bloated at all - mainly due to super hard work yesterday which included munching on grapes whilst the fiance munched on the box of roses I got from work!

So today I did really well - I went into work to get some things done, drank peppermint tea, water etc. However, although I had a tin of vegetable soup, it was no where near what I needed. This meant that by the time I got home I was starving and the fiance wasn't due for another 2 hours. And this is where I faltered. A bowl of cereal was then followed by two slices of bread and butter - ouch! This meant that, despite the smaller portion of dinner, I am back to being over-full and feeling like rubbish.

HOWEVER!! I must learn from this: 1. take more for lunch, including healthy snacks. 2. Distract oneself!!

So will let you know how I do tomorrow!

24 hours done!

11.7 and a half :)
To go: 7.5

Well! What a difference a day makes! I was extremely good not to pick/snack/munch today - a lot of cupboard opening (a very bad habit of mine) and saying either silently or out loud "No....No...NO!!" to myself. Not drinking tea has seemed to take the edge of the bloated-ness and I am actually feeling relatively healthier today already - wohoo!!

Last night was fun and I was very proud of myself - out for an engagement party and I had one glass of champagne and for the rest of the night.....diet coke! And did I have a good night? I had a GREAT night!! So two nights out in a row and only diet coke consumed. As I said before, keeping the reward of looking and feeling healthy is really spurring me on - not to mention the fact that my fiance is 4 pounds lighter then me - and he was wearing jeans when he weighed himself this morning!! Grrr!!!

Anyway, I'm feeling positive despite knowing I've still got a way to go, plus I'm sticking to my promise of getting on the Wii everyday - I did Just Dance yesterday which I'll probably do again today, if not then the Zumba! I haven't let myself down and to be honest, that's the main thing. I'm doing my best to not have any cake/chocolate/biscuits until I reach the all important 11.0 and so far, so good!!

Fruit juice and water here I come!! A x

I'm gonna do this!!

Start: 11.9 :(

Ever had the feeling that you have suddenly ballooned?! Don't get me wrong, I don't exactly stuff myself - however my effort in exercise has been pants and for some weeks now I've been kidding myself that if I carry on putting it off and eating the same amount as my fiance who does a grand total of 40 minutes walk to work everyday, I'll lose weight and my arms will be giving Madonna's a run for her money. WRONG! So here I am, about to embark on my Summer Holidays, feeling a bit crap and annoyed with myself for letting it get this far and ready to take on the challenge of disciplining myself, keeping focussed and looking fab by the time I go back to work in September - bring it on!

I've got at least 3 events this Summer I want to look good for. The first, in a week. Now I'm not to panic about this, I'm merely going to be super focussed this week - eat and exercise well and not to let myself down!! Then I have a wedding on the 6th - that's 2 weeks time. I wonder how well I can do for then?! We shall see! Then the main one - my friend's Hen Do mid-August. I must feel confident at this point - particularly due to spending a weekend with lots of healthy fit girls!!

Now, I'm going to bite the bullet and fully admit my personal naughty habits. Number one, I'm able to excuse myself for anything. This stops now. First of all - if at any point I think: "Ah it's only one chocolate" or "It's a special occasion" or even the worst one "Oh I'm doing really well, I'll treat myself" then I must stop immediately and tell myself "Think about how amazing you'll look and one step back will mean two steps extra effort!". Basically, no excuses - I'm doing this for a reason, those let downs are what have caused this problem in the first place!!

So, my plan for the Summer - lose 12 pounds. Simple. I'm 27 now and I'm sick of worrying about weight/flab/wobbly arms. I've decided on a few things that I must stick to: exercise everyday. This includes: Wii Fit, Just Dance, Zumba and walking. Lack of funds mean I won't be gymming it and so I'm going to have to do it on the cheap and cheerful in the comfort of my own home. Perfect.

So here goes, daily and weekly updates here we come. Wish me luck...(slurps Green Tea!)...

Summer Holidays

Wooooooh! Due to public demand here I am, back on the blog updating you with all things new. Needless to say I've been a busy bee however I am aware that I owe it to my fans...er...mates.

So, basically been working my little bottom off at a summer nursery school. Back to basics with riding bikes, colouring (WITHIN the black lines!), disney films and packed lunches. Its great fun, knackering but its worth a nice pay cheque at the end of it all. All these people who have paid off/almost paid off their overdrafts make me so envious! However I'm getting closer and not too far in the distant future I will be in the plus and be able to save for a rich future!!

Before I started the summer job, Rob and I went to Paris for 4 days which was brilliant. We never anticipated the amount of walking we'd be doing and I still have a strained foot from wearing flipflops the whole time. Whoops. Apart from that we saw the sights of the beautiful city, had a dodgy 'French' Thai and a gorgeous 'French' Italian meal, stayed in a lovely hotel and took lots of great piccies which i'm sure i'll email you if you require.

Oh my god I cannot WAIT until Graduation!! I'm starting to miss the life up in Lincoln although I'm very aware that chapter is done and dusted, so the graduation will be a perfect ending (also dependent on the entertainment at the ball!). I think I've got my dress, was made to feel panicked when at Dale's at the weekend when I was hounded with questions on whether I had my dress and people had already got theirs/looking for theirs/know what they want etc etc. So on my wonderful 4 hour drive home the random thought of 'Right then,. suppose I should look for a dress then' came into my head and so the next day I looked, found, ordered and awaiting its arrival hoping it fits in all the right places and looks damn good! Panic over! Hurry up girls, we havent got long ha ha ha. Speaking of Daley, it was so good to see some beautiful faces and we need to communicate more often. Great bbq, great company and a fun drive up with Rachel who without her wonderful navigating we might have ended up in manchester. You laugh but, we really almost could have!

So for now i'm working to get this overdraft paid off, looking forward to getting back to school and carrying on my teaching assistant job and then starting afresh with Rob somewhere! Its all very exciting!!!

Hope you are all fine and dandy, I am!

leicester, limes and buddies

Hello everyone, sorry i haven't been on in a while but I honestly haven't had the chance! I'm currently sat in 'The Green Room' at school keeping a student company whilst he plays computer games and swears left right and centre at the people he is killing, who needs radio?!

I had a fab weekend in Leicester for Arifa's birthday, went up Saturday and saw Helen, Dale, Emma, Elliot, Kat, Claire and Ali which was fab, now i reeeaaally miss you all! Went out for a meal and hit the bars which were all good and then we found a fab bar which had an outside dancefloor - air con eat your heart out! It was brilliant, all had a boogie and Arifa got her 21 birthday kisses and snogs which was highly amusing! I didnt mean it when I said her birthday was gonna be cancelled if she didnt get her 21 kisses! whoops! Off she went round the whole bar to get them and all the lads were very willing! some went in for the snog which she didnt mind, had to get her away from one dodgy bloke who got a bit too excited ha ha. It was so good to see you guys and its given me the 'catch up bug' so i may be coming to yours next! u lucky thing. Oh, and Elliot became attached to two little limes which was a bit interesting, in the taxi he dropped one and was scrambling to find it to which I had to tell him off for, he loves his limes.

Anyway, so apart from my fun weekend I'm still enjoying work, I even had my first department meeting which made me feel very grown up and I'm being handed lots of responsibilities to keep me out of mischief, including going into rooms were I can just play about on the computer or help a kid with their literacy or whatever!

Last week I started to get into running again considering I havent done much since Ive been home, feeling very unfit and my charity run is in 2 weeks! oh dear!! So now I'm making myself go to the gym after work to get ready and not look like beetroot at the end of the race!

Get in touch everyone!

A New Job & My Birthday Weekend!

My new job is wicked! I love it! Working with children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, I've been told no two days are the same which is fine with me! The 7am alarm hasn't got on my nerves yet and finishing at 3.10pm is always good!
My first day was funny, the first lesson was on parasites including a video which reminded e of the tie in year 8 when i nearly passed out due to Mr Gully talking about fractures. Oh my goodness I felt so nauseas! Random yet idiotic coment of the day 'Sir - is spaghetti a parasite?' hmmm. met a lot of nice kids, met a lot of odd kids, but I can't wait to be given my own timetable and children to work with plus I've met the school's educational psychologist which was very exciting. Going into the staffroom is really strange and seeing all my old teachers! but most of the have been really really nice and pleased to see me, i must be so memorable!
So this week i'm on half term ready to catch up with friends and do a few things before I start again next week. This weekend was fab, my birthday was sunday and I had Rob, Kes, Siobhan, Harry and Dale down as well as my friends from here and family all around for a barbeque which was lots of fun. On a smaller scale than last year but still lovely and yesterday the 6 of us went bowling and laserquest, that was so much fun! bought some goodies for the dvd's we planned to watched in the evening (but never did due to dinner, wine and celeb x factor) and went to the pub for a bit. I had a really good time and I hope Kes enjoyed his 21st !!!
Im now going to play on my new trampoline and make badges with my new badge making machine!!! Thankyou to everyone who sent me cards and pressies! xxxxx
